THURSDAY JUNE 17th 2025 | 19.30 - 21.00 (UK)
As cracks deepen in our dominant social, political, and economic systems, a growing number of people are asking: Is there a better way?
This module explores what a truly free and flourishing society could look like, one that achieves the benefits of central coordination but also truly empowers local actors.
We’ll explore examples of more empowering, bottom-up systems than can inspire us to take back control of our lives both personally and communally.
Stepping beyond the limits of the centralised state, we will start to imagine a more empowering and bottom-up way to organise social life.
This is your invitation to step into the role of builder, not just critic.
Political Philosopher, Research Fellow, Systems Thinker
David is a political philosopher and permanent Research Fellow at the University of Navarra’s Institute for Culture and Society. His work explores how free societies are built—not through top-down control, but through bottom-up, polycentric communities. He’s the author of The Polycentric Republic and Citizenship and the Pursuit of the Worthy Life, and has published in leading academic journals and newspapers alike. David helps connect the dots between personal agency, civic virtue, and real-world change.
